Job Title:  Collections & Recovery Head

Minimum Education:  Education: Graduation, preferably Masters

Minimum Requirement:

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience
  • Basic understanding of Collection Systems and new debt collection softwares
  • Sound knowledge of local laws and regulations with respect to lending and legal processes
  • SExcellent verbal, communication, analytical, numerical and MIS skills
  • Consistent delivery of high levels of results, use of constructive credit management techniques to exceed multiple, challenging performance objectives


Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and performing necessary accounts-related activities, including contacting delinquent accounts through the appropriate means, taking appropriate actions to cure delinquencies, analyzing members
  • financial situations, managing collaterals from repossession through to liquidation and bankrupt account management.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients whilst developing and maintaining new commercial opportunities and taking opportunities to sell the services that the Bank offers.
  • Providing support to establish management tracking and reporting activities and metrics to enhance transparency and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with other stakeholders to develop and modify collections policies and procedures to comply with legislation, regulations, and other legal developments that affect collection responsibilities.
  • Maintaining delinquency / credit loss / recovery at budgeted levels though implementation of processes, procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure implementation of credit policies and risk management strategies for effective portfolio management.
  • Lead the Collection & Recovery teams and visit highly delinquent and aged accounts for recovery to ensure achievement of assigned recovery targets
  • Actively assist in development, updation and management of portfolio MIS for effective portfolio tracking as well as identifying & mapping risk triggers to assist the business in achieving the optimum risk reward equation.
  • Implementing new strategies and tactics to improve collections and recovery performance, training and coaching staff to improve performance.
  • Provide guidance to other Departments and Branches of the Bank on all aspects of problem loan recognition and management.
